I had a pretty good time, was good to see a lot of you again! Sorry I couldn't stay a bit longer, but I couldn't miss my nieces birthday party.

The one that was there last night was an AP2. I'm pretty sure it belongs to Dennis, or he already sold it.

 

Nope, no joke. But no carjacking either (at least from how I understand carjacking works). So I was at this gas station, fillling up. This guy came up to me, commenting about how beautiful the car looks, etc. etc. He was 4 inches taller than me and had arms looking like my thighs. So he could easily overpower me, but he wasn't overtly violent. More like a very aggressive panhandler. He was leaning onto the passenger side door, and was very insistant that he needed to get to this grocery store down the road. His story didn't make that much sense, because in the beginning he was talking about this gas station down the road, which was supposedly a lot cheaper, and he wanted to show me the way to get there. Then he wanted to pay me for the ride. Then he wanted me to buy him groceries. Since I didn't see a way to get rid of him, I caved in, and figured i could talk my way out of this.
So we started driving, and I did see a pattern in his questions trying to figure out a) how much money I have, and b) how much a threat I would pose. I shaped my answers according to this premise (and mentioned that I'm married to a cop). Either that worked, or I just really misunderstand the culture down there. After about a 10 min drive he directed me into a neighborhood of mixed new and old houses, where i told him that the car just can't go onto badly paved roads. So he directed me to some house (apparently where "one of his girls" lives) near the main road and I let him out. I got the hell outta there as soon as he was out. That wasn't really helped by the fact that TomTom had 1) lost the satellites again, and b) once I had them back, my map was way out of date for the area, as there was a new major road build through there, cutting off the neighborhood streets, which made the directions useless. After about 30 min I was back on track.

At any rate, I took a drive through Va. Beach to calm my nerves, and ran into two of you guys (now if I could remember names ...).

Anyway, all ended well.
