How to tell if you are taking corners fast enough?

nahhh... all that means is others have run hard enough to leave marbles that you have cleaned up....
now if you went out on new tires and come in with them shredded to the belts, ok, that is taking the turns hard.

but, you did not say look at the tire, you said look at all the stuff you scraped off the inside of the wheel...
sortof like after a session on the hoosiers and coming in slow, it picks up all kinds of crap, especially if you come in off line a bit, helps make weight with all the pickup. of course, if we come in hot, the rubber on them is so hot and pliant you can stick you finger into it and see the fingerprints....

Well, you look at the tire. They are scalloped all around, the two rain lines are gone and the tire appear to almost be delaminating/splitting (there is a longitudinal split running through the tread on all 4 tires that I have never seen before). They have two days on them.

holy crap did that throw the wheel balance off at all?
To make things worse, the tape weights could not handle the heat and promptly fell off but the car drives nice and smooth. I have not driven it since I scrapped all the tire poo off, it probably is horribly off balanced at this point.

Most of the crap on the tire surface came off on the 1.5 hour drive home (plus I scrapped the gravel off before leaving) , that is the stuff from inside the wheel.
