Default How to find a job

Can anyone recommend a good site or sites or ways to find a technical job in the Northern VA area? I have a rather extensive resume (no college but a lot of experience and some good certs) I would like to find an entry level mangement position or a senior technical position. I can not get a security clearance (please do not argue this with me). I'm not really asking people if they know of an open position just asking of good ways to find one.

Thanks

(oh and to my co-workers who read this forum.....shut your mouth....yes....I know you read my posts because I monitor your computer. Yes, I am talking about YOU!)

Dice.com is pretty good for tech positions, once you've gone the careerbuilder and monster route.

Thanks guys. I think I've tried most of those, but I'll give them all a shot.

You can also try getting in touch with some head hunting firms like Spherion. They do a lot of temp. stuff, but also have a huge division in the DC area that does full time job placement.

Mike, When I am in search of a new job I exhaust ALL references. My most successful one has been the phone book. I picked it up, went to architecture, and called every single number. If that office did not have openings, I asked if they had other offices or clients they could refer me to. I have been without work twice, and each time I was employed again within 36 hours. Last time I was out, I left at 8:30 am, and had an interview at 3 the same day

Another good thing to do is just go to these places and hand them a resume personally, ask to speak with the person in charge of hiring, they will take into account your initiative to seek them out and interview them rather than the opposite!

Good Luck!

I have found monster and dice to be the best for tech jobs. I just post up my resume and get phone calls.
