Default How to bring in Civilians to Military Base?

Hello Military Folks (hooah, oohrah, booyah, etc, etc, etc),

How do I bring a civilian to an Army post if we were driving two separate vehicles?
Do I sign them in at the front gate? Notify the guard at the entrance and tell them the car behind me is w/ me?
I'm not sure what the situation is w/ the hightened security.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Please and thank you,

LT

usually there's a pass office near the gate. get your guest a temp pass, etc (usually guest's ID, insurance, and your ID will be needed).

Procedures are different on every base. I would call first or find a website for the command and see if they have visitor info.

Thanks,

I'll call Ft. Myers before I go there. Just wanted to take along a fellow S owner to get our cars washed before the April BBQ meet.

Thanks again,

LT

At Ft. Myers, a non-decal vehicle will have to get a temp. Ft. Meade and Ft. Belvoir are the same.

Info Update,

Called Ft. Myers and spoke to NCOIC of MP Dept. (or something like that) and got the go ahead. All I have to do is notify the gate guard about escorting the civilian, we both go through the check point for weapons, etc., and make sure we both have license, registration and proof of insurance.
So, if anyone wants to get their cars washed in No. Va or DC metro over the weekend let me know I usually wash my car at least once a week or two. Best part is, it's FREE! and I have the bucket, soap, sponge, etc.

Thanks again,

LT

Not a problem, just give me a call on my cell 703-371-8992.
Weekly wash for my S is always good.

Hey LT,

I'm an AF SSgt, and I work in Ballston, right near Ft Myers. I didn't know they had a free car wash, if I ask the gate guards will they know where it is?
