Default Hood Venting

After Venting my hood I had several requests asking how much I would charge to vent hoods? Honestly I hadn't put any thought into it but started thinking about what a fair price to charge members for my time and services rendered. So I started this poll to gauge what everybody thinks is a fair price for labor to have their hood vented locally.

The process takes about 6 hours give or take start to finish

YOU would be responsible for materials which include but are not limited to:

Perforated Aluminum sheeting of your choice found on http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-pe...sheets/=hc2ei1 or http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/alu...=40&sst=subset

I highly recommend 14GA for its strength and it will not flex once installed

You can choose any style you want I used the 14 gauge .25 hole size staggered holes from mc master carr it was 69 and some change shipped

1 maybe 2 rolls of 2-3" painters tape
Powder coating of the cutouts (give me the color i will take care of getting it done and let you know the cost via receipt)
I will provide the clear silicone and 3M VHB Clear silicone double sided tape
and touchup paint if you choose to paint the edges of the cut (optional i did not see any need to paint mine)

If you would like yours done post in this thread or pm me

here are pictures of my hood from start to finish http://photobucket.com/92da906ap2_hood_venting

Mods if i am in violation of any forum rules i apologize ahead of time

Take a look at the Pics, looks labor intensive to me.

I took my time to make it look good and had to hand file all edges and corners I'm sure it could be faster but why rush damaging a perfectly good hood

You seem to do a good job on it, Ron. I think if it takes you 6 hours to do it nicely I vote for $300.

Any warranty?

Since this is ONLY for labor charge, I voted for $240. I can see myself spending $300 TOTAL but not Labor only. I'm sure I'll be paying you $300+ in the end with parts and tip etc. Shit in fact I might throw in beers and pizza too for us as well I'm sure you'll get faster and knock it out in couple hours after gaining some skills and tricks. So yea I think $240 for labor charge is fair in my opinion.
BUT! if you do end up going for $300, make it $299 lol it just sounds better

Thanks Ron! Yes I will stand behind everything I do, if for some reason within 30 days the vents fall out or rattle i will be more than happy to correct it to your satisfaction replacing vents as necessary if needed for free. After the 30 days I will replace or repair vents for a nominal fee not to exceed $40 labor only parts are still on you

If you end up wanting to change out the style of the vents to a different hole size or a different color after the initial service it will fall into the out of warranty category

Mark the best thing about the aluminum I think is I can do 4 hoods out of one of those $69 sheets so a group buy could be worked out where one sheet is bought for around $18 a person

Keep in mind the sheets are 36"x40" thats 3 foot x 3 foot 4 inches they are not small in relation to the application

Pizza and beer sounds good! Ill of course refrain from drinking until the project is complete

Thanks! and my pricing was based on what you can easily obtain from an ATM

If the interest is great enough i will have a template made up so i can have a much better looking final product and slightly faster but by no means am i going to rush
