This screws with the VIN # matching on the car...

does anyone know what is involved in installing a clutch on the S. i spoke with honda this morning, and they said that it was taking so long because they had to move the engine, drop the transmission, remove interior panels for access from the inside, remove the exhaust manifold etc etc. any ideas?

brerspidur,

In all frankness... Take that rental they gave you and drive your ass over as soon as possible and make them show you your car. I would be freakin' the hell out right now. The clutch TSB is literally a single-day job. There is no excuse for this delay...except that there is something much worse going on here. Not to paint you with fear...but seriously, get over there and make them show you the current condition of your car. Ask them who your mechanic is and take time to speak with the mechanic (i.e. find out if *HE* knows what the hell he is doing!).

This is not normal. If you did not hear me (and others that have posted to your thread)... THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!!

Now go!!! GIT!!!

I took mine in for the 1-2 shift grind and they had it for THIRTY DAYS. I'm considering a lemon law lawsuit, actually. It turns out that they could never get the transmission to work right after reassemble because... (drum roll, please)... they LOST A PART when they first took it apart, and only realized it was missing after six attempts at reassembling / driving the car.

And people wonder why I will do my own TSB's at my expense.

well i finally got my car back, .. .went to pick it up, .. they aplogized for taking so long, said it was more in depth of an install than they thought. i got in , started it up, and got hit with a CEL. after another 15 mins of checking that out, it was determined that they put the vacume hoses on wrong, . . simple fix and i was out of there. it wasnt till i got home that i noticed that they never tightened the intake tube to the throttle body, it was jsut sorta sitting in place. aside from that and numerous fingerprints and smudges on what was once a clean car, there is at least no damage or scratches that i could find, and everything seems to be running fine. i guess that is what matters. the buzzing sounds 100% better and the clutch is easier to push in, . . . not sure if that is a good thing, guess it will take some getting used to, .. but other than that i guess i made it out safe
