Default honda is holding my car hostage

has anyone here dealt with richmond honda? i took my s in to get the clutch tsb done, and they were really cooperative and went out of their way to keep me informed on what was going on. after the parts came in, i dropped the car off monday night. they told me it shoudl take no more than a day, so while they said tuesday night, i expected to pick it up wednesday morning. then tuesday night, i got a call that it wouldnt be ready till wednesday morning because they didnt want to rush it, i said no problem i was planning on picking it up then anyway. wednesday morning comes, i get a call that it wont be ready till that afternoon because they dont want to rush anything. i say no probem, they get me a rental and tell me i can use that for the afternoon. around 6 i call up and they tell me that i should go ahead and hang onto the rental car for a while, that they were taking care of it. when i asked about a time frame, they said they did not know, for me to call back tomorrow and maybe they might be able to figure things out. has anyone else here got tsb 54 done there? if so, how long did they take, ive read that people are averaging 1 or 2 days. although driving a rental pickup truck sucks, i dont mind it taking so long as long as it is done right, but my problem is with them telling me when it should be ready, and then when im about to go get it, they say they need more time. just give me a time and stick to it so i dont make plans around that. anyway, . .i just had to vent. thanks everybody for listening

Make sure they didn't "test drive," cause some damage, and are trying to fix it quick. Go look at your car!

I would be down there the next morning to make sure my car wasn't in the body shop.

when I took mine it, it was for the clutch tsb, the seatbelt tsb and the sparkplug tsb and they told me about three days, they said maybe longer or shorter because the clutch tsb takes a long time and the seatbelt tsb also takes a while and they like to take their time. it ended up taking about two full days (i had dropped it off one morning). I would give them time, but yea I would explain to them about how you don't mind waiting but they should have been more straightup with you.
OH and make sure you tell them to use fender mats (they left a surface scratch on mine that I was able to just wax out)

I took mine in for the clutch, spark plug and driver's window regulator TSB's and I also had them replace a rubber seal between the hood and the base of the windshield. It took them three and a half days to finish the work. As it turned out, they had to order the rubber seal and they waited until it came in before they gave me the car back again. It did save me another trip back to the dealer, so I can't complain. They were telling me the same thing that your dealer is telling you.

i went to west broad honda, to get my state inspection, and they told me they were ready to do the all the TSB's on my car if i wanted to leave it... i was worried how long it was going to take, and they said, well, hopefully, it wouldn't be longer than a day. We'll call you to tell you. I expected the worse, but i was shocked to get a call 1 hour later saying the car will be ready in about another hour. go WEST BROAD....

Sorry.. that was off-topic...

regarding your situation, i would go check. My friend had her celica in for service and they kept stalling in returning it to her, finally, they had to admit it fell off the lift... you know.. something small like that... !!!!! they are still in court for that.. but yes, please go check...

It takes 1 business day to do the clutch TSB, maybe two if they didn't get started right away on the first day.

im going to swing by there first thing in the morning ,. hopefully ill have some good news when i get there because that will be the last chance i have to pick it up due to work untill late next week. i could understand the delay if they were doing several TSB's but all they were doing was the clutch, and putting in a new driverside headlight, but that isnt too tough of a job. thanks for the suggestions everyone

My brother in law works at Saturn. He was told to install a spoiler on the silver car in his bay so he did. It turns out it was the wrong silver car. Then they switched out the two trunks without the owners knowing. I'd go check it out.
