hey guys
comming to DC this weekend to pick up a frt spoiler..
suggestions on places to eat, things to do, what to see. local food (blue crabs??)
we should be arriving very late Friday and leaving Sunday afternoon
as a side note we're staying on Pennsylvania avenue and we defiantly wanted to walk by the white house but if i heard correctly, did they completely close the street in front of the white house?
Thanks for your suggestions

You could try Legal Sea Foods at...
2020 K St NW
Washington, DC 20006-1806
Phone: (202) 496-1111
I'm not sure if you can walk by the White House still, but it's definitely closed to traffic. C'mon ...ya know that us Washingtonians never go sightseeing in our own Capital.
Have a great stay!

Pennsylvania Ave is open to foot traffic, just don't make any jokes about explosives!
International Spy Museum ( https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=108439 )
The Kennedy Center is a great place just to explore.
If the weather is good, the FDR Memorial is in a park like setting.
On the mall most of the museums are decent
Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery (Located under the mall, objects of art through history mostly Asia, India, Egypt)
Air and Space - Always a winner
Museum of American History (Inventions, Cars, Movie Star Props)
Natural History Museum (Dinosaurs, Hope Diamond, etc.)
A dinner cruise on the Potomac on the Odyssey is nice and romantic ( http://www.odysseycruises.com/dc/indy/index.html )
Annapolis, MD is about 40 minutes east of DC with lots of "old word charm" and good eats. This time of year the crabs won't be from the Chesapeake, but they look almost the same. Cantlers ( https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=108439) is the authentic, eat on a picnic table covered with newspaper, next to the water, crab eating experience.

are you looking for some local places to eat? there's a good indian place near that legal seafood (but a little expensive). there's also another great vegetarian friendly indian place north of georgetown.
i'm also a big fan of the malaysian place on m (the one under the strip club). if you go to washingtonian.com they have a list of places to eat (both high dollar and cheap eats). i've had good success with that list, so far only 1-2 bad ones out of dozens.
just try to avoid too many chains, dc actually has a lot of great local restaurants.
if you really want to go to cantlers I have a back way route to get their (from my MINI club) it takes a little longer but it's a fun drive.
