Default Hardtop window seal

I have a Mugen style fiberglass hardtop with the plexiglass rear window, and the seal on the window is coming off. The silicon or something stopped holding it in in one corner, so the seal sticks up, and the top now leaks. I am just curious if anyone knows how to reseal the top, or anywhere that will know how to do it. I took it to two glass shops, and they both said they probably can't do it.

Here are 2 pics of different angles of how it looks. I tried explaining it as best as possible. if i left anything out, just ask.

Safelite auto glass shop is installing mine. I have a glass window though. I do not know if that makes a diff. Pep boys sells a urathane adhesive for window seals with full instructions on the tube. give it a try.

Well I would want a new seal too I suppose since it does not cover up all of what it should...

Could you ask them if they do plexiglass windows too?

take it to the body shop, they should have some kind of a good sealant...
Or you can try and experiment yourself with something like superglue/epoxy/jb

If I were a shop, I wouldn't touch it. I'm guessing it was the shape of the rear plexi that caused enough pressure to "lift" the seal up. If that's the case, then the plexui would need to be heated up and reformed. The chances of getting that correct? Dunno.

Then, if you're able to get the plexi as needed, you have to be able to reseal it. That means you'd have to completely clean the current goo, reapply goo, and then come up with a way to clamp-n-hold it in place.

If the non-conforming shape isn't the problem- just the adhesive is- then clean it with a solution that will remove the existing goo without damaging the areas surrounding the affected area, reapply goo, and figure out a way to keep pressure on the area until curing has taken place.

Got my car back from safelite today. They did a great job. I forgot to ask about plexiglass, But i don't see why they couldn't do it. Give them a call Dan. I am going back to get a mirror replaced on my Suby this week. If i remember i'll ask.
