Came out this morning to a slashed top and my seats gone. Just giving everyone a heads up ... so now im number who knows .... this is ****ing shit
Also I'm curious as to how someone who has posted on this site for close to a year and is well aware of the seat theft problem, ... not have seat locks?
Was it the "Oh, no one has the guts to try that with my car" or "Nothing like that ever happens where I live" or "I dare them to try that in front of my house" or "It only happens in areas close to the Beltway"? Either way, I thought all those things as well.
And they still made off with my seats in July. But I can plead ignorance because I didn't have a clue that they were wanted items.
These guys are actively seeking out seats to steal, it doesn't matter where. If you have an S2000 that sits out at night or is consistently parked in isolated areas, then you also can easily become a victim.
I'm more curious to know how they find the locations of so many S2K's??? I'm guessing they have spotters who work as trash collectors or some other similar job.

Even with the seat locks... you're still going to wind up with a shredded up top. I swear, I hope these fools stealing seats get caught and pay big time for the hell they're putting people through.

Anyone with more than $50 comprehensive deductible on an S2000 really needs to talk to their agent and price out their options. Hell, my friend had a $0 comp. deductible on his Civic that was broken into 3 times.

Im pretty sure we're running $100 deductibles on both our cars... I remember what it was like with a $1000 deductible when stuff happened. What a PITA.
A hardtop will save your softtop, but it won't prevent the seats from being stolen. Apparently the window can be pried open enough to get at the lock and open the door. In which case, the alarm would (might) be good. At least it saves you a slashed top.
I'll get my order in for those seat locks asap... And I'll print my own sticker.

I knew that was coming Chris.
Dom, , sorry tohear about your loss. But new seats = better than old seats.
