Post GWS Mercedes AutoX this weekend (Sept 10)

Great autoX event this weekend (Sunday Sept 10) in Winchester, VA.

You get anywhere from 6 to 8 runs. Nice lot, cool, laid back crowd with a nice mix of cars. PM me if interested in attending or just show up.

I'll be designing the course so it will be a fun S2000 course!!!!
Details:

Millbrook High School
251 First Woods Drive
Winchester, VA 22603

Plan to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 AM

Onsite registration is $25 for GWS members and $30 for non-members. Non-members must join MBCA to participate in more than one autocross.

From Interstate 81: take EXIT 315 (Route 7). Go East on Route 7 toward Berryville (West will take you into Winchester proper). Proceed approximately 1.2 miles East on Route 7 to the third stoplight. You will begin to see the school zone warning signs as an indicator. Turn LEFT onto First Woods Drive.

From Route 7/Leesburg area: proceed West on Route 7 toward Winchester. If you count stoplights, First Woods Drive will be the fourth (4th) stoplight you'll encounter after leaving Leesburg. You should see school zone warning signs just before you get to the stoplight at First Woods Drive. For those familiar with the route to Summit Point, First Woods Drive is approximately 5.1 miles past the Route 632/Triple L Road turnoff to Summit Point. Turn RIGHT onto First Woods Drive.

Please respect the posted speed limit on First Woods Drive.

As you proceed uphill on First Woods Drive, you'll pass Redbud Elementary on the right and Millbrook High on the left. Continue past both schools and you should see the large parking used for the autocross lot straight ahead. The pit area is a smaller parking lot off to the right just before you get to the autocross lot.

PS Watch out for speed traps on Rt 7 as you get close to Winchester. They are out there almost all the time on Sunday mornings.

I did not see your post till Monday. They will probably not ask for membership (but might). If you become a member, it will last you through 2007 VIR and Summit Point HPDEs.

Good event (32 people), we got 8 runs (I hit the rev limiter in 2nd at few places on the course).

I would have had FTD except a crazy nice Porsch RSR cutom built just for autoX got trailered in for this event. Wicked fast car with a good driver so I came in a distant 2nd place.
