Did GoPro fix the crappy audio from inside the water proof case? The Contour has excellent in-car audio--if you listen carefully you can even hear me cry.

They have external mic capability now. Haven't used it yet, but should be better.

I think the best thing to do is to get a separate audio recorder and then match up the audio/video in post. I'm thinking of trying it and creating a mount for the rear tow hook, should get some great exhaust noise and a lot easier than running audio cables all over the car.

I just bought the hero2 a month ago as well... i'm outside of the return policy, freakin' sucks...

they have a swappable rear door for their case... water proof (inaudible) vs. dry-use only (audible)...
