I hope the Fed Gov't doesn't try to roll the speed limit back to 55mph again. Remember in the 70's, the gov't did that due to the oil shortage, saying it would save fuel. Then they kept the speed linit at 55 for the next 15 or so yrs. Even 65 is too slow

DELETE YOUR POST!!! No need to put that idea back out there!!!

Warren, I do remember that well. I also remember my father being laid off from GM. Things were tight indeed.

BTW, I also remember the pumps had the mechanical(analog) gauges... the kind that rolled. Well, when gas went over $1/gal, the pumps weren't designed to handle it. They ended up charging by the liter to keep the unit cost under that $1.

Yeah, I heard about some older machines this time around couldn't take an input of over 2.99/gal, so they had to start displaying the price per half-gallon...

Has anyone noticed prices going down? It's weird, at this one shell slightly west of Rt. 198 and I-95 in Laurel, Premium has dropped to 3.09...

Drove by it around 10pm and there was a line of around 20 cars... came back after midnight and filled up
