FORZA Motorsports: GET IT if you have Xbox
#11
I haven't tried it with a wheel, but I've heard there is a decent force feedback option wheel.
The game has multiple controller layouts and I prefer the triggers as brake and gas.
My friends have all played the Gran Turismo series before, and they love this game.
The game will even give you new performance benchmarks when you tune it (i.e. your 0-60 is now this, you can do skidpad etc).
my Xbox LIVE Tag is: powerslide376

I picked it up... gotta say graphically it's far below GT4 (mostly in the car models), but the physics are interestingly different.
What I've really liked about the game so far is that the engine sounds are amazingly accurate... I cranked up the engine sound to the max to hear the S2000, and it sounds ever so sweet. Of course, Porsches and Ferraris being available is also really cool.
The 900 degree wheel for GT4 can't be beaten though... it's so freaking awesome I don't think Forza supports it, unless there's a USB adapter for the Xbox...

GT4 > Forza
to say it blows away GT4 is ... remember GT is the first and original.... all others will always be copies and subpar.... i'm not sure how acurate Forza is.... but GT4 is very acurate on everything... the tracks are acurate to within inches, all special cars where tested before being put into the game, and we all know the modifications and tunability in the game is limitless.....the only drawback on GT4 is the inability to modify the body......
by the way.. not starting beef with ya... just voicing my oppinion..... but ummm.. i do want a drink...

^^NP man...Im a damn video game junkie, so no worries.
From what I've seen the tracks are par on both. I raced Nurinburg (sp?) Ring on both and they are almost exact, down to each version having the graffitti on the track.
In regards to tuning,in Forza once you purchase the right parts, you can change everything from gearing to camber, toe, caster, dampening, rebound, differential adjustements, aero, brake balance/force/etc, ride height, spring rates, yada yada yada. You can even do engine swaps, new exhausts, tuning. All the big name tuners are in the game as well. I actually got awarded a Mugen Honda S2000
I'm sure the games are very similar overall. I spent countless hours with GT2, so i have a special place for the series in my heart.

I played it yesterday, and the way I judge my games and how good they are, is that if afterwards I just want to jump into my S2000 and drive, then its a good game. But half the time I just want to drive my S2000 anyway.

^ GT4 also has the mugen s2000, 3 versions of the amuse s2000, spoon s2000, lm s2000, and oreca s2000.... they also got the regular s2000 and the type v versions... .. and i own each and every one of them

BNavZ;
not too sure what 'weird' is, but I know playing with a really slow Renault in GT4, I couldnt get up a damn hill on the side of the track because I stopped in the wrong place
Anyway, really I think both games are awesome, to each is own and everyone system has its haters.
I noticed in FORZA you really have to brake, turn, accelerate. Especially with the faster cars. I also noticed the tuning is really great, I mean adjusting something like the camber actually makes a noticeable difference. THe other cool thing, not sure if GT4 has this, but as you make adjustments you can have the game do a virtual 'test' of the car in which it will calculate the max. cornering G's, the acceleration, braking, 1/4mile etc.
I'm trying to tune the 597hp Turbo S2000 that I put together, right now I'm having trouble not spinning the tires in 3rd gear. I put a nasty wing on it to give it some downforce and it got better, been adjusting the diff also. I plan on adding downforce to the front etc.
my buddy has the biggest sleeper ever, a 1950's Porsche Speedster (the one James Dean crashed in), he did an engine swap with a 911 GT2 engine! Thing is FAST AS HELL. It only weighs 1200 lbs! Literally when it hits 120mph its like a rocket just activated and it just dissapears. He has wasted many a niave online racer with it
