Fixing Ding in A-Pillar
I had an unfortunate mishap at the AutoX this past Saturday. My canopy was picked up by a gust of wind and dinged and scratched a STi (my dumb@$$ didn't properly anchor the legs ).
Most of the damage can be repaired by a PDR guy and some buffing/polishing as the scratch aren't deep into the paint. However, the shop mentioned the only way to pull the ding in the A-pillar out is to drill a small hole to get to the ding for repair and then paint the pillar back to the rear quater panel. I understand that the problem is access for any tools because the A-pillar is encased with structural elements inside. Does anyone have suggestions to repair a ding on the A-pillar without body work? I feel real bad if the owner needs body work on such a new car .
