I couldn't wait until the 20th so 25 degrees out this morning going to 50 this afternoon but I couldn't wait to wash the cars so I decided to try ProtectAll QEW after hearing good things about it onThread at Autopia Forum. No hose just a double bucket with 2 gallons of hot water in each side. In the one side I mixed in 2 ounces of QEW and 1 ounce of my QD the other side was for rinsing my mitt. Scared as hell since it was pretty dirty and you don't rinse it off but it worked great so I did my Porsche as well. I should have taken pictures before and after on the S2000 but batteries were dead in the camera. Here is a thumbnail where you can see a clean vs dirty section of the Porsche and a couple of after shots of the 2 cars.

Yes I know I need ot replace the yellowed protective strip.

I did a small section on the back of the car first figuring that was the best place to scratch out the paint if it was going to happen. This was also the dirtiest spot on the car and once it passed the test there I was good to go. I was scared before that first section but unless I really screwed up I knew I could fix it plus the S is light silver and the Porsche white so they would hide it well. I'm going to try my pickup (blue) or my 4Runner (dark green) next and see what happens. I'll probably do the 4Runner as the paint is beat to crap and it has 130K on it but both of those have been running in the snow for the last few weeks and are really nasty.

You don't have to be there at 10 AM.... but given that we can only put one S in the wash bay at a time, and that there are alot of folks going, I suggest people get there early, mingle and help each other wash each others cars, and then get to waxing.

Oh yea, we can do lunch there too if everyone wants. Like pitch in for pizza and soda's and what not. Or we can do a potluck thingie, but I'm sure alot of you will be too lazy to cook and bring food so pizza is a great option.
