Exhausts Shops in SOVA.
Hey guys,
So I picked up a AP2 exhaust and I tried to get it off this past weekend with no luck. I tried everything in the book besides breaking off bolts. I touched base with Cory but realized that driving to Hampton with a exhaust hanging out of the S is not the smartest idea. So I'm seeing what's out there. I also don't know what to expect as far as prices. I'm basically taking off the catback on there now and putting the OEM unit that I picked up. Any help is appreciated.

Did you try soaking the bolts in liquid wrench first? WD-40 also works in a pinch. And instead of steady even pressure on the bolts to remove them, set your socket wrench in place and then sharply tap it with a hammer to get them started.

I soaked them with WD-40 overnight and got nothing. I tried it with the hammer tap and no dice.
I've exhausted all options. I'm tired of making zero progress. Id rather a shop heat up the bolts or nuts and turn them off in a few minutes. Plus the lack of space doesn't help.

if you have your car up high enough you can try and use a breaker bar.

Hose them down with PB Blaster, let that soak in for a day, drive the car around for 30 minutes to get everything HOT, then jack it up real quick and knock the bolts loose with a socket, t-bar (not a ratchet), and a 3-pound hammer.

If all else fails, you may be able to hit the bolts with a little "Mapp Gas" applied thru a typical multi-application torch. We not too long ago ran into this similar problem while swapping out the header on our Si. About 20-seconds of applied heat to the cat's bolts and viola'... we were straight! Might be worth a shot.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys but my S is a DD so I can't attempt this again with my work schedule. My luck has sucked all weekend.
With my work schedule being tight, I'm not able to get in there till Friday. To top it all off, as soon as I finish up the exhaust bs on Friday, I have a 7 hr drive to PA.
