If you block off your exhaust, your car will stall. Years ago, I saw in a Summit Racing catalog a valve so that you could have a catalytic converter bypass for the track. Not going to do you much good since you'd have to get under the car and manually switch it though..

I believe Wingman just got a fix-it ticket for his Invidia exhaust also.

Dave's Invidia was purchased in 2003. He probably has put 70k miles on the car since then. I honestly believe he has completely blown out his silencers.

And he supposedly was speeding(going with the flow though).

Did you get a ticket for the light? I doubt you did. Can't ticket someone for entering an intersection during a "YELLOW," unless of course you were speeding to do it.

And I'd like to see a picture of your gold OEM wheels.

Actually, you can get a ticket for going through a yellow. In Virginia, running a yellow light is the same infraction as running a red.

You can beat it fairly easily and that is the reason why most won't ticket you for it.

A "YELLOW" is to warn drivers to prepare to stop. "RED" means stop. This discussion was just taken up on WTOP 107.7 a couple of weeks ago.

Whether or not you can beat it easily isn't the point. That's all relative. If it's in the law books as a violation and you admit to it being a violation then you've broken the law. For example:

Officer: You just ran that red light.

Person in question: No sir, it was yellow.

Officer: So you ran the yellow. (scribbles notes)

Person: Yes sir.

Officer: Well it is still a violation. Running a yellow is the same as running a red.

So then you go to court. The officer shows. He has notes in his paperwork that you admitted to running a yellow. Violation committed.

Yes a yellow means to prepare to stop. However, in VA it also means you cannot run it.

That unfortunately leaves a lot up to the discretion of the officer What if you're like 10 feet before the line at an intersection going like 35-40 and it turns yellow right there....

If you attempt to stop, you will no doubt be in the intersection when you do stop, and on top of that might end up having anyone behind you hit you because he's probably thinking he can make it too if he is that close.

If you don't stop, then depending on what the officer wants you might end up getting a ticket...

Isn't it kinda unfair if it's abused?

Ok, we're not gonna get into the abuse of power with police officers. That's a whole other issue.

The violation occurs when the light has already turned yellow, and you hit the white cross line.
