Exedium Racing Diff Collar Review
#73
Finished the install tonight and got my brakes bled too. I swear every time I work on this car I find something else new on the 06+ that makes the job more of a pain.
On the driver side front diff mount there is this black shield piece and then all the crap it protects I had to remove the bolts for so that I could actually get the mount off. Not sure if that part is on the older models.
Sunday will likely be the first day I get to take it for a spin and see how everything feels unless I get lucky and the weather is nice on Saturday in what little time I have free.
Sunday I'm doing a small track event so afterwards I should be able to give a good little review on what I thought.

I was going to try the method of removing the silver mount from the diff but couldn't get any of those bolts loose. I don't have a breaker bar which would have helped buy my best attempt at any kind of long extension wasn't working so I just fought around it and it's all done.

Yesterday I drove 2.5 hours to the track and then drove all day there and 2.5 hours back home so I think it's time for a review.
My car is a 06 with a little under 30k miles. I'm thinking that my factory diff bushings weren't too worn out as this wasn't a ground breaking change for me. I'd say if you weren't someone that picks up on small changes you probably wouldn't notice a very big difference. You might just think your shifting and throttle application got a bit smoother. Shifting does feel better and when you put your foot down you do feel the car start to go. Before I felt like you needed to wait for the bushing to deflect and then the power goes down. Now it feels a bit more immediate. It also feels a bit better when you let off the gas. I did feel like my rev matching was a tad easier too.
This was the first time I was really out on track with the car since doing all of my upgrades so it's hard to tell how much of a difference they made on the track. The car did feel good though.
Anything to tighten up the car is good to me so I'm glad I bought them.
About the noise/vibration this has actually increased enough for me that I notice it and it's fairly noticeable in 6th gear when around 60mph. I think some of what has done it for me is my clubsports have solid top mounts which will transmit a lot more noise
