Event: Southern Maryland Drive and Lunch/Dinner
There's been some demand for another SOMD cruise so a date and waypoint locations have been set! Despite the cooler weather that we had at the end of February this year, everyone that came thoroughly enjoyed the drive and wanted to come back for a second trip when it was warmer! We will have one stop towards the end of the drive for pictures so be sure to bring your cameras.
Please read entirely!
The start time is 12:00pm and please do not come on an empty stomach! We're looking at almost 2 hours of non-stop, curvy back road driving before we get to our late lunch/early dinner.
Rules for the drive:
1. Keep enough distance between your car and the car ahead of you. (This is especially important during the first ~10 miles of the cruise due to the roads being narrow.)
2. DO NOT make a turn from the road you are on until the person behind you is within sight of you and your turn signal. (If you were at Skyline 2k13 you understand the importance of this one lol)
3. Fill up on gas before coming to the park and ride. I'll list a few gas stations that are near the Park and Ride lot where you can fill up prior to our departure. (Boosted cars will be able to drive the entire route with no issues, with a full tank)
4. I am not responsible for moving violations that result in tickets, accidents, or any damage to your vehicle.
I plan to scout the roads in the morning to make sure there aren't any hazards that will await us(while keeping lowered cars in mind). I'll be sure to make adjustments to the route if need be.
Meeting location:
Park and Ride Lot
W Bay Front Rd
Lothian, MD 20711
This is on the southbound side of RT 4 at the exit for 258.
Gas Stations near by:
Shell
1372 Marlboro Road
Lothian, MD 20711-9541
(410) 741-1386
Sunoco
5511 Southern Maryland Boulevard
Lothian, MD 20711
(301) 358-3506
(The park and ride is easily accessible from both of these gas stations.)
Ending/Dinner Location:
3:00pm
Bert's 50's Diner
28760 Three Notch Rd
Mechanicsville, MD 20659

It's a nice place to be. I'll talk to Eddie about the route we take, if we want to go far enough, a good scenic area would be to go past the Naval base down here at PAX and head towards point lookout or even St. Clemets over on the western side.
We could head up to Bert's from Tall timbers through some cool backroads and then jump on 5 or Budds Creek after we get through Leonardtown. Only issue there would be getting through the stoplights.
