you still have to with the HD bar!
You have to cut some pieces with both bars unless you leave them out of the car. That's what I did.

Lou - the bar looks great. Hope to see it up at Summit Point soon. Can you post a pic of the bar/seats after you get the seat rails in? I am interested in knowing how low the top of the seat/top of helmet is relative to the top of the bar.

Welcome to the Elda "club" Lou. Looks like a nice install.

I had the SRS light on after mine was installed. I discovered it was a loose connection that I was able to get to from the trunk and reaching up inside the bowels to plug it back together working blindly. Good luck.

As for the padding on the bar, racing grade padding is damn near as hard as the bar itself. It's designed for some flex when your helmet hits it. Personally I suspect it would do darn near as much damage to your head as hitting the metal. Bottomline, roll bars without a helmet are dangerous. That's the risk of driving with them in normal street use. The other stuff I've found it just the opposite and tends to be too soft; more for looks I guess. If there's something available in between these two, I'd love to know about it.

I never have and know every time I go out on the track that I should install a racing harness. I love to know the best way to install them and still have use of the original belts.

At the moment, I'm using the softer pad.

Hi Dave, thanks for your information and pics.

That damn light It acts like it is going to clear, but comes back on. It shows no fault codes when I read it.

I am going to get the padding rated for the track. With the factory hoops in the way, it would be difficult to hit the Elda with your head, but not impossible. I have six points to install and do intend to only use them on the track. I want to look in Rob's car again, before I drill the tranny holes. Once they are in, I will send you a PM Dave.

I had the dealership read mine . . . . I had to show them where to plug it in !! Doesn't that give you a warm feeling about dealerships. They even had the workshop manual.

As best I recall (not easy any more), it showed up as a seat belt default but I could be wrong.

Hi George, aka Mr Hill. Mastered that Vette and ready to move on?

Hey Dave sold the vette, leased a 08 S2000 and built a Spec Miata.

It was quite a change.
