Default Dealing with USAA

Well I finally got my car back from the body shop after 2 months of dealing with those incompetent people who were proven to be liars more than once(won't go in to the details here).

That same night I got rear ended in the brand new and well paint matched ings bumper. The bumper still has the same shape and it's relatively small so it can be fixed. At this point i just want to get it over with, not wait for a new one and deal with insurance for months on end.

But Geico explicitly told me that they agreed to replace my last rear bumper before they even saw the damage, and they reimbursed us fully once we forwarded the invoice to them. these USAA people are telling us that they WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES replace my rear bumper with the same one. when they thought i had an OEM bumper they said they would replace it with the generic brand (knock off, not Honda) one. once they found out it was aftermarket the y said they definitely would not. so i'm like WTH. i know i won't need a new one and i really jsut want it fixed. but can the at-fault person's insurance really say that? they are rude even on the phone. they also had me sign up for a time slot for the adjuster to come look at the car and he never even showed up. this not going well and i haven't even gotten my estimate from them yet. has anyone else had similar experiences with USAA?

If they take responsibility for the accident, they have to put your car back into the condition it was prior to their client hitting you. It's as simple as that.

It's a good insurance company's job to be very nice to its customers and very difficult to people who are making claims against their customers. USAA is a good insurance company, so I'd expect it not to be easy for you.

However, being difficult and being unprofessional aren't the same thing. It sounds like you're hitting a streak of bad luck with them.

Rashad, you were not at fault correct? If not, I don't see what the argument is. If aftermarket coverage is not in your policy this is a problem only if you are at fault. Since they are at fault here, they need to take responsibility for their customer and fix it. If they still refuse, get your insurance involved so that they can fight for you.

I had someone rear end me and then deny that it ever happened. My insurance company got involved and duked it out until they agreed to pay. I didn't have to do anything except file a police report.

Man, you waited all this time for your car to get fixed and then get banged up again. You need some karma.

Thats what Comp and collision are for.

Liability is of course what your liable for plus your passenger.
Comp/Collision is when you get in an accident pay your 500/250 etc and the insurance covers the rest.

If the other person is @ fault they must pay and put back the way it was prior to the loss which is called Indemnity.

Being a licensed agent in all states W GEICO I cant say anything negative about USAA. But like all companies. You hear Good/Bad.

USAA has always been a pleasure to deal with for me, as a policy holder.
