DC/VA rant

So can we unload on NYC and how everyone in NYC seems to think that the rest of the world revolves around the big apple (as can be illustrated by your above post stating that the way you guys do everything is better than the way we do)?
As for rooting for the 'skins, better than rooting for the Yankees
And talking funny? Maybe it's the just that pesky pronunciation of all of the syllables in any given word
I'm just poking fun, no insults intended, you're 100% on point with the quality of the drivers around here

sounds like you need a beer to unwind - come out Saturday to the Buffalo Wings night!
I've been here about 4 months and I have to say I laughed out loud at some of your points ... the merging, the runners and basics of walking in particular!
a different pace here.

NY was starting to get to me, which is why I didn't object at all when my wife wanted to move.
Everyone in NY indirectly brags about how rich, how fashionable, or how important they are..."oh man, I hate this coat, it's $4000 designer stuff and no one will clean it! What a hassle" or "I'm sooooo tired...I've been working on that multimillion dollar deal all week!".
It's effin annoying (s2ki is family friendly right?) at times.
I've noticed in DC it's more about indirectly braggin how into politics, economics, or philantropy they are "oh man, I'm beat...I just got back into the US after signing a peace treaty in the middle east, feeding the hungry in Africa, and then saving 3 small villages from terrorists in Indonesia".
I'm sure it'll annoy me eventually, but for now, it's a nice change and doesn't bother me at all.

you could just move and wait for you wife gf mistress to get done and move back to ny
- Great driving/riding roads only 1 hour away.
- Inexpensive living.
- People are pretty nice.
- Great parking, huge parking spots at every shopping center/restaurant/office building/etc.
- Got a decent job here.
- Weather is great. It's cold enough that you don't feel like you've missed winter, but it's not painfully cold. Summer seems much longer here (been here since August).
- + many more...
I'd say I'm 50% adjusted, another 3 months and my little irritations will be gone.
Plus, it's a new experience and I'm really enjoying it. I've never had such a nice apartment, never had a private parking lot with my own assigned space, never parked the car with the top down, stress level is much lower here, etc.
It's great here. Not sure if i wanna stay for good (all my family/friends are back in NY), but it's been a great experience so far and I'm looking forward to the next few years in the area.
Those gripes were just me venting...no place is perfect afterall.
