Cracked Plastic Window

Cracked Plastic Window
So last weekend I fell victim to the dreaded cracked plastic window. It's not too noticeable, just a hairline crack about 4 inches long on the bottom of the window. I'd like to know the most inconspicuous way to fix it, short of replacing the top or window. It's surprisingly difficult to find info about this.
The good news is I don't daily drive the car and it's garaged, so weather is not a major concern (although it needs to withstand washing). I'm leary of tapes because they might make the repair more noticeable than the crack itself. I've heard of using Locktite or similar products. I've even heard of melting the plastic back together, although that sounds a little far fetched.
Why not just replace the top with a shiny, new, glass-backed model? Well, I just might, but my top is in good enough condition that I think I could stretch it for another year at least. It's really a shame this happened just after I came to terms with my patch repair.

I was in same situation not that long ago.
I have seeked for cheap alternative than replacing the entire top.
THere are shops that are willing to replace just the plastic window part, however only for about 270-300 more, I could have replaced the entire top with glass window.
So I went for that.
Do yourself a favor and don't spend too much time on research on this one. I have spent countless hours researching and called 4 or 5 different convertible/upholstery shops....
Either you get the plastic window and trim parts and have it repaired and save 300 bucks or so...
Or you get the whole top replaced with glass window and spend about 300 more....
I can't say that's true for every shop, but at least that's generally what I got from the shops I called.
Lim's does great job BTW.
