Just thought I'd ask this. Anyone know how much a full rebuild would cost? Say I just drove my car to the shop and let them do it (I know every shop well vary). I know down the road I'll be looking into a rebuild and thought I'd get a ball park range on what an "average" one would cost. Thanks!

Thanks again folks for concerns & advice. After weighing all ideas, my plan is as follows:
1. Drive the car until the motor 'pops' (keeping it lubricated all the while -- by being vigilant in checking oil level)
2. When it is time for a new motor...a new* motor is exactly what I'll be putting in it (crated short-block from Honda)
* My local Honda mechanic will be getting that for me at his cost when the time comes

Then you should probably reconsider your plans to track it.

FWIW, I decided to get over myself and see just how much my mind was exaggerating oil consumption. I topped off the oil at the Max mark on the dipstick and kept track every day. 620 miles later, it reached the Min mark on the dipstick. Adding a quart seemingly shifted the oil level back to the Max mark on the dipstick this morning (folks...does that seem correct with your experience -- 1 quart takes you from min-to-max on the dipstick?). Anyway, I'll continue to monitor the car's oil consumption on a daily basis (and consider the consumption based on miles driven). Certainly 620 miles, then add a quart, is a lot more than typical. However, its not honestly as bad as I'd given the car credit for I guess. I plan to do leak down & compression testing after the first of the year. And for giggles, I'll keep 'journaling' my miles/quart results here
