Hmmm. If you've already popped the lower ball joint, I'd say bolt the upper A-arm back in (to hold the spindle), unbolt the lower arm and see if you can get anything to loosen up.

I finally freed the trapped strut. I had to remove the entire lower control arm, as stated above. I'm going to do the rears tomorrow, and hopefully I don't run into another 'trapped strut'! Thanks for the help -- I'll post a couple pictures once it's done!

I think it's the same, I wish I'm not at work so that I can send my pictures of install. Anyway, remove the two bolts (17MM Ithink?) that is at the end of "Y" end of Lover "A" arm bolted by the inner fender side.
