Ouch! Sorry to hear about this Dave! Hope you can get her fixed up with minimal impact to the wallet.

It's things like this that make me think twice about lowering my car from stock height.

Yup...up and running today. Throw enough $$$ at any problem, and the results can be near-instantaneous . Now...the real challenge: collect that $$$ from a more culpable entity .

I love the [pat] response I received after having met with Henrico Co.'s Risk Management division: "Mr. Parker, we will investigate this immediately -- expect to hear back from us within a week. *IF* through our investigation it is determined that others have reported problems with this particular cast iron water cap...then we will begin processing your claim immediately. *IF* however from our investigation it is determined that there have been no prior reports filed regarding this particular cast iron water cap...then you have no case and the County is not responsible for damages your car suffered." In other words, if the County knew about it and did nothing, then the County is responsible. But if no one made them aware that their County property was defective...then [in the eyes of the code/laws written by the County...for the protection of the County] they cannot be held liable for damages suffered upon my vehicle. Nice...so just how exactly would I be able to *prove* there *was* any such prior report...vs. taking their word for it that they performed a thorough investigation....

Oh well...for now I'm at least pleased that The Bruised Banana is running...and running strong

meh.. that's just BS. prior lack of reports doesn't negate their liability.

if they turn you down - file in small claims court..
