if you're staying NA go 4.77

actually Ryan... i just remembered you got an ap2.... get the 4.56/4.57 gears instead.....

your top speed will be roughly... 138mph with the 4.56/4.57
with the 4.77 you'll be down to around 131mph

dammit, i need to ride in someone's car to really get an idea of how much this effects the daily driveability of the car. i have a feeling 4.56's would be the way to go.
ap1 with 4.77 gears + aem cai = 13.2 quarter mile time

so i would assume an ap1 with 4.56/4.57 gears would run around a 13.5-13.6 easily....

while a stock S runs around 13.8-14.1

with the lower redline, I would go 4.57.....4.77 may be a bit much.

I am struggling with he same question.

I am back to NA now and am keeping the car for now, and wondering where I need it on the track and whether 4:56 gears are enough

I always had trouble in turn one loosing VTEC (SC'ed and NA) taking the corner in 3rd, 2nd made the car much looser and didn't seem help lap times. I need to enter in 3rd faster but I am not sure I can maintain VTEC with the 4:56 gears when entering corner about 60 MPH or so. NA it would take forever to get on the cam (past turn 2)

One thing I really liked with the Supercharger is I could shift less which is much smoother and easier on the car. Now with the 4:77s how many times are you shifting per lap?

Here is what I did with the 4:10s and the SC.

Turn 1-2 6th to 3rd, turn 2-3 3rd to 4th, sometimes carry 4th in 3, turn 4-5 4th to 3rd, Turn 6 3rd to 4th, carry 4th (out of Vtec for a bit but full throttle) past turn 9th, 4th to 5th before 10, downshift to 4th before 10, 4-6th on straight

Thats roughly about 8 shifts per lap, I need to go back and study older tapes and see what I did before.

Will the 4:77s keep me in the power band or I will have to shift a lot more?

Anyway I have plenty of time to think about it.

NA ~ 120-123 (124-125 rarely) I know I can carry more speed though 10 now.

Supercharged 128-135 shifting at 8500 RPM. I prolly could have gone faster, but would always screw up turn one by overbraking when I went deep.

At Beaver, I could shift into 5th on both straights, but really didn't need to.
