I just got off the phone with Cale's buddy Matt. Cale is an organ donor and he's being prepped for surgery so he can give the gift of life to many grateful recipients. They are being prepped for their donor organs and when they're ready Cale will go into surgery--probably 12 to 24 hours from now.

There will be a memorial service and reception in Hagarstown within the next few days. When the time and place are finalized I'll let you know.

Godspeed Cale, we'll never forget you.

Wow, I just opened this thread and I feel sick ... this is horrible news. I'm not close with Cale but every time we've both been at meets / autox's / track events etc he was exceptionally nice and a cool guy to talk with.

Really feeling down about the whole thing now -- but like others have said, glad that he was doing what he loved most.

Might meet up with you guys at GB now after seeing this.
