Broken Trans...
I just pulled the trans out of my car this evening after breaking something earlier in the week. i had thought it was possibly the clutch but when i got it out i tried to spin the input shaft and it was not moving properly it would spinn alittle and then stop and sometimes lock up.
Do any of you local guys know of a good trans repair shops, or of any ideas on getting a stronger gear set or transmission.

this is what xviper wrote in a post.
Due to the increased ratio of the secondary reduction gear from 1.16 to 1.206, this is like giving the final drive a 4% gear change (like putting in 4.264 FD gears). BUT, the big bonus is that Honda lowered the ratio of gear 5 and 6 so that hiway cruising rpm is not badly affected.
With my current 4.44 gears, this would give me the equivalent of 4.6 FD in the first 4 gears and still give me an additional 5 mph on the top end (or a slightly reduced cruising rpm).
The beauty of having an AP2 tranny in an AP1 car is that we can take advantage of that extra 1000 rpm redline. Owners of 4.56 cars have now indicated they should have gone to 4.77s but don't like the idea of the higher cruising rpms. Even a NA car with say, 4.56 gears can have an AP2 tranny in, have the equivalent of 4.74 FD in the first 4 gears and still have better cruising rpm than before.
