Sucks to see it. Just like the others I have a parent/in-law story. I had just spent $200 having paintless dent removal done on one of my cars. It was perfect, paint and body. Two days later my MIL backs into the car with my Pilot. Of course, it was my fault according to her and my wife because I left the hitch on the truck. WTF, the thing extends 6" and she had no business backing into my driveway. As far as I'm concerned if she was within two feet, she was way to close.
Sorry, still haven't gotten over it.

Divorce?
I can't for the life of me understand how that would make sense to anyone.

Estimate was only for 1676.00 and they are not trying to replce the bumper just patch it with some flex additive??
the plastic is smudged in 2 places and paint is spidered across 1/3 of the bumper shouldn't it be replaced or just a respay and this flex additive will be ok???
when my pass fender had to be fixed due to flying debit on the highway that cost near 1600 bucks.. so to me this is way off..

That's not a bad price for OEM honda parts and if it is a good shop, but you can easily find used parts or aftermarket parts for significantly cheaper if you wanted to go that route.

They wont give me a.check only.the body shop
In virginia you have the right to the check and take the car where ever you please to get repaired. I've dealt with numerous insurance claims at my shop and personal experiences. They can't tell you where to take the car, just where they would like you to go for an estimate. You have the right to take it elsewhere and get your own estimate.
Im not sure if MD is any different, but I wouldn't think so.
