Default Body shop drama: Part Deux.

OK - So I took my car to Baugh friday to get a quick estimate, have an appointment at Fletcher's today at noon for their guys to look at it as well. Baugh quoted around 2000 to replace the rear quarter panel, as well as the rear bumper (A couple of the clips that hold the bumper to the body were broken).

The Geico adjuster (the other driver's insurance) looked at it today (at fletcher's actually) and said that NO parts would be replaced, that it would be filled with body puddy. I'm sorry, but this is completely unacceptable to me. My car had no body puddy in it prior to their irresponsible driver carelessly backing his expedition into my PARKED CAR, it should not have any body puddy in it after it is repaired. Nor should i have to drive with them rigging my bumper clips upp. beforehand i would have been able to take my rear bumper off at will, i should still be able to do that after.

Do i have any recourse for this? or do i just have to bend over and take it in the rear?

I would followup with your own insurance and see what they have to say

Make sure the body shop is a Geico certified body shop. That is usually a big deal to them.

When my car was backed into, the woman's insurance (Allstate) estimated costs to pound out the dents in the door. Fletchers took one look at it and determined that the door would have to be re-skinned. They called in the Allstate adjuster to discuss it and Allstate relented, paying for the re-skinning and painting of the door.

Hopefully, you'll have the same thing happen!
