Unless there is standing water all over the place, newly shaved tires will work fine on wet pavement. Your mind may tell you otherwise, but you have to push through it.

That doesn't mean you can run 10/10 in wet.

Also, by shaving the tires, you forego the need to run the tires in for several hundred miles to get past the release gel left on the tires.

I kinda figured the run down to Alton would take care of the mold release. But, yea... I guess shaving works too.

Driving down would get rid of the mold compounds but an unshaved RA-1 does feel pretty crappy at speed, at least until you have a little wear.
