Default AP1 Wheel Repair Advice

I'm going to attempt to fix some curb rash on my oem wheels, but I need to know exactly what I'm dealing with. I've heard that '00-'01 wheels are different from '02-'03 wheels, but I'm not clear how. Are '00 wheels polished? Any advice on how to match color? I was thinking of using Bondo as filler. Thanks!

Please don't use Bondo...I've seen two sets of decent condition wheels for sale on craigslist for cheap. Either buy those or bring the wheels to a wheel restoration shop.

Theres a rim repair shop in Virginia beach next to Stock or modified. To be honest you can probably find a better deal on buying local used AP1a or finding some refurbished ones online.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I've done my research on wheel shops: Ye Ole, Wheel Worx, etc. Even their cheapest rates (55 per) are more than I care to spend on repairs. Most of the rashes aren't very noticeable so I can't really justify $200+ in repairs.

The only reason I mention Bondo is because I found a post of some guy doing his Mazda3 wheels and they came out nicely. I'll search for an alternative or perhaps just paint over the rash and hope nobody notices.

I recently saw a clean set on Ebay go for $150 (+$150 shipping). Worst case scenario, I'll go for those.

The wheel repair shop right behind Stock or Modified Bodyworks is:

Wheel and Rim Repair
3428 Chandler Creek Road
Virginia Beach, VA
(757) 689-2672

I had them repair my old set of RE30s when I had an irate curb jump out at me and chomp on my passenger wheels.

IMO, they do good repair work, you just have to stay on top of them to get them to fix your wheels in a timely manner.
