93lude, I did the same thing w/ a local S owner before I bought mine. Dealerships will NOT allow you to fully DRIVE the car as it was designed to be driven. The two dealers we went to wouldn't even allow the wife and I to drive together w/o a sales puke (sorry salespeople).
W/o the ride from jfo, I don't know that I would have purchased an S. jfo was kind enough to show me the abilities of an S.

I used to work at a honda dealership in bel air (S&S) they would allow me to take anything out for test drives. (Never did test out an S2k there) Frankel Acura didn't care how I drove their S that I test drove but it was trafficky and I couldn't even hit vtec ;(

wow, you guys need to go to Columbus, OH to test drive one....I drove 5 different S2k's before I bought mine. The first one I drove they just got done detailing it, and never even pulled it out of the garge before they handed me the keys and said be back within an hour (brand new MY05, 9 miles on it). Another dealer let me keep a used one overnight so I could show my fiance the car and see what she thought of it. The one I finally bought was from another dealership, when I picked it up at 10:30 am to test drive, they said to have it back by 6:30 when they close! I did go to one dealership though, who wouldn't let me take my fiance out because I had to have a salesman with me. I guess what I'm saying, is if you around, you can find the dealerships that will let you actually DRIVE the car, they're just hard to find! I am glad to see fellow s2ki members helping one another, especially since I'll be living right there with you all in less than 2 weeks now!
