Default Anyone know a good traffic lawyer

Hello, fellow mid-a peeps. long time no see! Im here to ask the community for some advice.

So, I got pulled for speeding last night on the GW parkway. the ticket was for 71 in a 40 and he gave me the wreckless too. I was just cruising at that speed being oblivious. It was at night time ~9:10pm. It was the part between reagan and old town alexandria. I rarely drive down this part of gw parkway bc i rarely go to oldtown. I always drive on the northern half of the parkway, mclean to dc. Anyways, i forgot how the speedlimit drops so much once you get past dc and get near the airport.

I am at fault obviously and I wanna know if you folks would know a good lawyer. It was a Park police guy, not a state trooper, arlington, or alexandria cop. I have to go to the US district court in old town.

I havent gotten a ticket in a couple years i think. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Dan

edit: just checked my record and my point balance is +2

hahahahaha, man it sure has been a while huh? to be honest im just busy as hell!!! I used to be pretty active here a 2 years ago, but life took over in a big way! I am forever working now :/ I think the s2k might go soon to make way for something more practical and comfortable... im dreading the day that will happen. might be soon or maybe later. I joined the family business and I am running my own business now so it is hard to find time to enjoy the s2k like I used to. maybe when i get a place of my own and some more time i will be as active here like i used to

I totaly understand about family business. I used to run the operations of our family business once, worked min of 16 hours a day, seven days a week. Now I work for Uncle Sam, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 30 days paid leave a year and off on all the holidays.

yea its more like the business owns me rather than me owning the business. im a bit jealous of my freinds who work corporate. 9-5, 2day weekends, paid vacay and sick leave. not a bad gig, but my plan is to make more money than them hahaha. we'll see how that goes

My ex got a reckless on the GW Pkwy a few years ago...similar to yours. Yes, it is a Federal highway and the penalties are stiff. He doesn't remember the lawyer's name, but I think I can get it for you if you need it. It cost him about $1000. He didn't even have to show up in court.

MsPerky, thanks for the reply!
$1000 is a lot, but if he is good it would be worht it. What was the end result of the case? Lowered charge, no charge, no fines, big fines but no/lowered charge, etc... Usually you HAVE to show up in court if you get a reckless, but I guess the lawyer can be present in lieu of the client?
If you could get me the lawyers info I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thanks~

edit: spelling
