Post Anyone interested in an IT position?

Hi All,

Our company in Herndon, VA, is looking for a Mid-Level IT Specialist to join our IT Department. We're a mostly Microsoft shop. Here's some additional details. Please send me an email at mjin@hgl.com if you have any questions.

Information Technology Specialist, Location: Corporate Headquarters, Herndon, VA.

Diploma required, BS / BA preferred, non degree applicants must have appropriate work experience and training to be considered. 2-4 years of directly related work experience.

Job Description: Responsibilities include assisting the Senior IT Manager and the IT Department staff with day to day operation and user support of 300+nodes Windows 2000/2003 LAN / WAN Network. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting of HW/SW, PC repair. Routine paperwork, administrative, and other IT department tasks as needed.

Other Requirements: Must possess strong background in Network & Systems Administration (TCP/IP, Switch/Hub functions; Network Topologies; Active Directory Structure; functionality.). Must have strong knowledge of MS Windows Server family and MS Windows Desktop OS systems. MS Exchange 2003 Server, Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.1, & Veritas BackupExec Server knowledge preferred.

Must be a self -starter capable of working effectively with others, in a fast-paced work environment. Must have the ability to adapt to all facets of IT operations. Must possess excellent organizational skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills. MCP & A+ Certification required. MCSE and other IT certifications preferred. Pre-employment drug test required.

Ok, by popular request, here are the quick answers to the questions above.


pay range? - It's a Mid-level position and it depends on practical experiences. $$ is something that the HR Department will ultimately decide based on where you would fall under on our career progression chart.
security clearance required? - No
telecommute option? - Possibly but not a definite due to type of work required.
# of people in that dept? - 7 including myself
phone support or on-site? - On-Site and phone. We have 6 major regional offices and smaller satellite offices throughout the US traveling? - once or twice a year depending on office openings...etc..

Possibly, but at this time, we do not have any active govt contracts that require anyone with a clearance, but that doesn't mean we won't in the future.
