Anyone going to the National Greand Prix in DC?
Thought I'd see how many S2K owners are already going or are interested in going to the National Grand Prix in DC (next to RFK stadium) on July 19-21. It will be the first time a GP will be held in DC.
The main event is the American LeMans Series (ALMS) on Sunday the 21st. The Speed Channel (formerly Speedvision...I love that name better) GT and Touring Car Championship will also run that weekend, though I'm not sure of the date. I don't know when tickets are going on sale, but you can sign up, see the course layout, and get other info at www.nationalgrandprix.com
So how many are going? Count me as one.

I am just awaiting info on tickets as I'm on their preferred list. From speaking to a lady at the DC Auto show it appears that they will be starting ticket sales mid-February.

I want to go. Gimme tickets.
Ok, well when they go on sale I'm in for a bunch...
I can count at least 5 ppl to go.
I was really hoping they were going to have some street sections in the race, but it's just a track. how boring
Really... some sections of DC would be great for this, but I guess I get to use those for myself

Not to be a dead horse - but check out www.sportscartouringday.com. Look under the calendar.
They're organizing good tix and seating for the whole thing.

I'm on the email list twice. I can't wait for the tickets to go on sale. I went by the site today and nothing is going on. I wonder how long it will take to get set up. The GP folks are going to want the course paved since the RFK parking lot is pretty broken up. They'll need stands, pits and garages.
