Default Any S2000 specialist in Montgomery County?

Hi folks,

I bought an 01 about 2 months ago, and recently i got cel misfire from p300-304 and p1399. the car runs very rough at idle and you can hear the exhaust poppin exhaust. I have a friend that works as a tech at looked at the car and had done many things to get the problem solved but yesterday he told me that he gave up. in order for him to find out the problem i have to go through the service department that will cost me big BUX.

Here's what my Tech already done:

Replaced coil packs and spark plugs
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced MAP sensor (the new one with the nifty zip tie holddown)
Removed, thoroughly cleaned, and reinstalled the IAC

None of this work has had _any_ effect at all. This is driving me freakin' CRAZZYY!! The sad thing is i just got the car back in early August and only put 1000 miles on it and all these crap is happening.

Can anyone advise/HELP me on this? Does anyone know any good reliable shop that specialist in s2000 in the area? or Could it be the injectors thats bad and, if so can somebody in the Mo co area come by my House this Saturday who's willing to swap injectors? i live lk 2 mnts from Rio. Just pm me and let me know what you need in return.

Many Thanks!!

Will

I am not local to that area, so I cannot help out as far as recommending a shop.

But with a blinking CEL, I highly suggest you dont even start the car until the problem is diagnosed. Have it towed to whatever shop you decide on.

Sorry for your luck. I hope you get it resolved soon.

by the looks of it the injectors is the only thing thats left. There are three areas: Ignition, Air, Fuel
Ignition:
sparkplugs, coils
Air:
iac-maybe, map
Fuel:
Injectors
fuel pump
fuel filter

before swapping the injectors I would check and make sure that the fuel pressure is adequate, it's easier than swapping injectors right away. Then I'll go for injectors.

Electronics can be an issue also, but 9 out of 10 it's a mechanical part that went bad.

I can't help you with the injectors, I have aftermarket, but I can give you a pointer. If you are not afraidm try unplugging injectors one at a time, by the way the car reacts it is possible to determine which injector, if any, is malfunctioning.

Blinking CEL = Tow it to a shop get a pro involved.

I wouldn't want to be involved with it, personally. Too much risk.

Thx for your advice Olegator, the thing is that my tech had check the fuel pressure then he said is fine. He mentioned that the car is not getting any spark from cylinder 4.. so it could be a good chance some wiring problem or the injectors. i don't really know how to unplug the injectors and do the test. i don't want to mess anything up since i really don't have any expirience on fixing cars.

Blinking CEL is not a time for guess work, hopefully you can find a good shop and get it figured out.
