4x4 in the road...

Years ago, going to work in my first job after college around the DC Beltway, a piece of plywood flew off a truck. The pointed corner hit my hood about an inch below the top on the driver's side and flew over the car. Not sure who got it after me. Big dent - if that plywood had been up another inch, I'm sure it would have crashed through the windshield and killed me. Very lucky that day. I was so mad, I caught up with the truck and pulled him over. His company paid for the damage.

Thanks for the well wishes, guys and gals. Other than potential damage to my car it wasn't a big deal.
Deb, a few short months after I had purchased the car and started meeting up with fellow owners (groups were TIGHT back then, so few of us had the car), we had a multi-state meet with about 12 cars. A highway trip ensued, and plywood was involved. It hit the first S and exploded into large chunks... which were promptly exploded into tiny bits by the next two cars that rained over the rest of us. I was fourth in line and had a few major splinters buried into my front bumper and plastic pieces, but nothing major like scratched/dented metal.
