Haha The sock is supposed to stop the brake fluid going everywhere in the unlikely case of the master cyl blowing up.
The gold film is supposed to reflect most of the radiation heat, how much of a difference it makes? I don't know, I did not ran the experiment. I put it on partially because I shaved the intake tube from all the extra ports and brakets, plus it was pretty scratched up...

If anybody is up for it, we can get together for some bbq and beers and scientifically study the issue using a thermocouple. It shouldn't be hard....but I just dont see the appeal of doing it by myself, with more people it should provide for some good entertainment

Anyone reasonably interested in a set of brand new KW V3s? They should be the ones with the improved compression adjusters. I ordered them after being impatient waiting for what I really wanted and just got a call today that what I really want is in stock now. They should be here on Thursday.

I paid $1975 shipped and would let them go to anyone in Mid-A for $1875 if they meet me fairly local to Richmond.

^Pretty good deal, since the price has unfortunately gone up on these and are right around $2k now from major sellers. For the guys that like to play with the coilover settings, the knob makes adjusting easier.

Oleg, I'd be down for that I like bbq, beer, and cars.

cage update - getting close.

All that remains now is the roof intrusion bar, the drivers head side B billar gusset, reinstallation of the dash, wiring the cutoff switch, and the new steering wheel.

Dan got Cale's red hardtop to fit (more or less). I will need to make or buy a lexan window for it and get someone to do bodywork on it to get it reasonably presentable. So... I will probably be selling my black OEM hard top. What's a OEM hardtop worth these days? There is one on CL for $3300 but that seems a tad rich.

Nice updates Matt..but just curious, why isn't the start button text facing the same way as the Mirror?

Dan sent me some pictures of his other work...looks like pretty quality stuff.

So are you switching to W2W or just want the additional safety of a cage?
