....the engine held up and we finished the race.....in the second to last place So besides that loosing water issue (and also shooting the exhaust off due to backfire...and bad bearing....and some other stuff) everything was dandy!

For street I'll just wear out the currect A/S tires I have right now.
The PTuning kit should help you take care of that.
Haha...Still learning how to drive this car properly.

Why the aftermarket radiator?
Touche, true...I have heard that Hoosiers tend to run wide.

I just got it because it was an inexpensive upgrade and theoretically should keep the water temps cooler. It is thicker and the core is larger than OEM, and as mentioned is a ton lighter but I didn't measure the offset of weight from the switch.

the only thing that will keep water temps cooler in your case (if that is what you are trying to achieve)is a different thermostat.

There is no need for that as well. The only time when the upgrade of the cooling system is needed is when you see water temps climb while on the track, given all other parts are working properly. That's when one would buy a bigger radiator in order to increase overall volume of heat trensfering media and effective area ower which the heat transfer occurs.

Oops, I guess I didn't mean cooler, but moreso maintaining an optimum temperature. I didn't take a measurement of water temps pre/post install so I can't say for sure whether it was really needed, but oh well, it was relatively inexpensive, and I am guessing it took a couple lbs off the nose of the car because it is so light. In any case, if elevating water temps are less of a concern now then it's worth it to me.
