As long as it is about 60+ degrees, they are good. I don't have the $$$ for Hoosier wets, but these are consistent and predictable. That is what I like, especially in the rain. The NT01's are not even safe on a damp track. I miss my RA01's. They were consistent in the wet, even though they sucked. The NT 01's are the suck, except on a dry track.

NT01s seem to be inconsistent in the wet and I have never been able to figure out why sometimes they're ok and other times downright scary. I once almost slid off the track on the warm up lap in the rain in Summit Main's Turn 9. My life flashed before my eyes--explaining why I got stuck in the mud during the warm up lap. Luckily I kept it on the track so I turned into the pits and called it quits for the session.

I doubt anyone has, due to their high cost, but just wondering...has anyone tried the Advan AD08s?

Hey Rob,
What type of aluminum tape are you using on your ball joints and where did you get it? They two types at Lowes, but they were only rated for like 250 degrees.

I have a set of R888s for rain tires. I've never run them in the dry but the full tread 888's are very nice in the rain. I assume Hoosier wet's would be better but I've never tried them.

Skip, how much better were the Hoosier wets than the R888's you were running the last time we both ran in the rain together at Summit Main?
KNEEL BEFORE ME!!!

(that's how much better- made me feel like a god )

For those who weren't aware, I had initially purchased the R-888's as my rain tire set (and they were much better than not having wets). Once I had a set of Ho-ho's for water, the 8's became lapping tires. I had never felt comfortable in the wet. Either my car's setup just didn't like it or my hands just weren't soft enough, but I always felt like I was severely disadvantaged driving my S2000 in such conditions.

Fast forward to the HW's. The first time I ran them was at VIR. Wonger (on Hoosier Wets, also) still beat me, but not by a whole lot. I was like, "WOW!!!" I also used them during the MB Starfest on SP Main. I was throwing rooster tails like a jet boat according to other drivers and spectators. The Wets evacute that much water. Let's put it this way- if a competitor is on HW's and you're not, you do not win.
