Well you have to remember that at the track when you are driving hard your suspension is constantly being compressed at one side or another...especially with the stock spring rate which is somewhat softer than an aftermarket suspension. Therefore, I would think it wouldn't matter whether you are at stock height. FYI, I think dc_s2k and TubeDriver are both running a 17x9 +63 setup and they are some of the fastest guys out there.

How are they keeping their brakes cool it just seems that they would have almost no room *scratches head* By the way I'm not doubting any information you all are giving me its all really helpful and I appreciate it a lot. I just need to figure something out in less than 30 days

You don't need ducting if you are just starting out. In fact you don't need ducting if you are really fast. Track pads will be fine without ducting. All ducting does is makes your pads last a little longer and increases the time between cracked front rotors.

I ducted my car after about 20 track days because my brake pad budget was out of control. The car stopped fine without them.

But what wheels are you running offset and sizing? And what size tires I'm trying to get the biggest 17 tires under my car while keeping it squared and the possibility for rotation

I cant remember. 17x9 i think definitely 63 offset. Lower offset is terrible. they rub, look stupid, and the suspension geometry is not designed to have the wheel shoved out another inch. You can do it, but in that you are asking for advice, the fast guys here recommend against.

255/40 17 tires

you don't need the biggest tires. You need either 255 or 245. bigger will rub and you really won't go any faster.

But your lowered arnt you? I'm still at stock hight for now and will be for a year or so

You'll probably still rub the fender liners occasionally. But you'll have to run -3 degrees of camber to keep from rubbing the outer fender lip.

If you haven't purchased the +45 wheels yet you will be better off with 17x9 +63 wheels and 255 tires all around. I run my NT01s on these and they do fit better, but I did run 1.8 seconds per lap faster on the RPF1 17x9 +45 with Hoosier 245x4s (I don't think they look stupid either ) The extra track doesn't hurt handling (it helps) but it does stress the bearings.

Here's the rpf1s:

Here's the 17x9 +63s:

How much of that time would you credit to the Hoosier's over the Nitto's?

Probably 90% of it is due to the Hoosiers.
