Folks, I need a referral to a very good welder in the DC area. Someone who can TIG weld a baffle into an oil pan. I am looking for a certified welder or fabrication shop, not a random dude with a TIG welder. If you can recommend someone, I'd appreciate it. Someone who welds things on airplanes would be nice.

Thanks, Kevin! I ended up putting the 8lb spring back in because the smaller one wouldn't spool up fast enough.

Matt- it will see 12psi. Are you saying you want to be the first instructor to ride in it??? And BTW, my dad is a professional welder. He did the harness bar in my car aswell as the downpipe, catchcan, and fittings in my oil pan. If you want me to see if he would be interested just let me know.

Where's he located? Does he do TIG aluminum welding? I know little about welding, but have been told this is a complicated job because is TIG and the metals are of significantly differing thicknesses.

Sure, I'll instruct you. As soon as you add a roll bar to that harness bar

He lives in chantilly but works all over. I'll give him a call in the morning and talk to him about it. What all needs done? I want to get a couple of track days in with this setup to make sure i like it enough to put a roll bar/cage in it. But if I continue tracking it, there is def. something in it's future.

Oh and Kevin, Did you Photoshop all of the dirt off of my car? It doesn't look half bad in that pic!

if I can kill them in corner but get pulled away from the the straits it'll be turbo time.

either way I can't wait to have some healthy competition with some of you!!!
That's why my car is now boosted. I was tired of having to ride behind someone for half a session before they would let off and let my "slower" car by. I am sure I will still have the same problem but with faster cars now.... But atleast I get to feel boost though!
Dave I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to share a pic of your car with the fellow members! Dave is a true grassroots motorsports kind of guy, he spent the better course of a year saving for and wrenching on this turbo kit, custom fabbing a lot of things, and in the end built himself a fun little machine...I was fortunate enough to go with him on a couple 2nd gear pulls while he was working on tuning it, and at only 5psi it is a rush. I am always in awe at his mechanical ability being at such a young age..his only fault as a mechanic is he's too honest! Without further adieu...

David, I want a ride when you turn the boost up higher. 25psi should be sufficient.

Car looking good, David. I want a ride too!

All this talks about track preps is making me all excited! I wish I can get my ride ready soon but there are much too may works to be done. Come on Spring!

Rob, I went with a Setrab oil cooler, Mocal sandwich plate with integrated thermostat, and 10AN fittings and lines. I'll try to photograph the install in case you want to use it as a how to on your site.

Sweet!

What does a bad rear wheel bearing sound like? I drove my car today and these is this hideous sqeaking noise from the rear. Sounds like a hyena when i accelerate, even very gently.

Mine sounded pretty bad, but it was more of a scrape scrape scrape noise I think.
