that would be awesome. I guess that's why they can have all these "S2K Challenge Series" competitions. It would also be nice if the track day prices were like the ones out there too...I thought I remember seeing one for under a hundred bucks.

We just need more people to get interested. I honestly didn't even consider it until I heard David talking about it and it sounded like a real rush. Ron, if you are swapping cars with your bro, is he going to start attending things? How old is he? And are you putting a roll bar into the turbo?

The problem is the rules out there are so relaxed compared to what we have here. With all of 2-3 track days behind your belt you can be out there running solo with timing equipment running time attack sessions with other drivers. They just don't allow for that here....or at least it doesn't seem like it. Plus a lot of the west coast stuff doesn't yet require aftermarket roll protection which just lets that many more people on track.
I just don't see it happening out our way no matter how bad we want it. I'm sure the events here are a lot safer and I won't take anything away from that but it's not as easy to get your car on track here. Several of their tracks are basically out in the middle of the desert too so other than a very small number of corners you basically have an infinite amount of runoff room so there are problem less cars in walls.
I've been following the s2k challenge stuff for a couple years now that the west coast guys run and in that time span they really have had a minimal number of incidents. Not any more than I'd think your average track event sees.

^^^ I can actually justify why they have it different... That track, Buttonwillow, is completely FLAT with plenty of runoff. Compare that with what we have at Summit and I can see why the organizers there are not as strict.

Haha, typed that on your phone and it kept spinning so you kept hitting post?^ But yeah, Steve you do have a good point. It also comes down to number of people out there and the actual fees that the track charges. The track rental is probably less than Summit, which leads to cheaper track time.
