Hoosiers are just a lot faster than ra1s.

I turned a 1:23 at comp school on a crowded track on old Nitto NT01s (and uphill all the way around the track) so Hoosiers are worth less than 2 seconds per lap. But yea, those last 2 seconds are pretty intense.

Keep in mind I was running a stock engine, the championship winning Spec Miata, not so much. Probably a $10,000+ engine.

I just pulled up the results for the 18 August NASA Stinger (Spec Miata, SSM, GTS1 and Spec 3) races and qualifying. The fastest lap of the weekend was a 1:26:3. New Fast Matt ran a 1:23 flat on RA1s so a wingless S2000 would still be over a second a lap quicker.

Thanks, Rob.

I'm in Charlotte this week and be back on Tuesday, no go for any track time for me.

I picked up the car at Ben's shop today. New 2.2L short block, overhauled head, lightweight flywheel, beefed up motor mounts, new windshield. Can't wait to get it on the track but I just saw the forecast for Friday, 95 F so I might not be motivated enough to get all the other stuff I need to do to it before then.

Hasn't been dynoed and plan to run it with just the stock 2.2 ecu.

I forgot to mention one of my engine mounts was completely blown--ripped in half. Matt, have you checked yours lately? I'm expecting a much more solid shifter with fresh polyurethane engine mounts & differential collars.
