I use R888 245/45/17 full tread tires that I only run in the wet and work great but I'll go with Hoosier wets for the next set.

Cool. I was looking at other tires until I realized that TireRack now sells Toyo. I will probably go with those aswell. Do you ever get them heat cycled?
No, I don't think anyone gets their Toyos heat cycled.

I've heard two good reviews of these tires now in w$t. Unfortunately since they are brand new they only have 13 sizes in 17"-19" but are supposed to expand that to 36 sizes soon. I also dont know pricing thogh

That was always the best part of a RA-1 they don't seem to heat cycle out like a full race tire.

Full tread RA-1s would be a good choice.

On a wet track, full tread R888s are better than full tread RA1s!! trust me on this

I'll second this. FULL tread depth 888s are amazing in the wet, significantly better than RA-1s.

Test drove the car tonite, so far the highest temps I saw was 204 but the SPAL fan kicked-in and down she goes. Temps maintained around 196-200 with AC on and 184-196 with AC off. Tomorrow will be the real test when I drive the car to work to a Friday madness commute.
Update:

Well, while driving back home on hot 90F from VB today I experienced the engine high temp while AC is on again. The engine was holding at around 210-220 on my way to VB. On the way back at I64 on a slow traffic the engine temp went all the way up to 230F again and about 13 bars on OEM Temp gauge. I turn off the AC and in two minutes the engine temps went back down to 210-200F. Finally traffic opened up and we were cruising on average of 70MPH with AC turned back on and the engine temp holds at around 210 for 20 minutes then went up to 220 and again 230 then it come down right away after I turned off the AC.

The engine temps holds at 200-204F with AC off even if I do hard pulls and runs at 4k to 4500 RPM on 6th gear. After running like this for 30 minutes then it dawn on me. Because it's hot and my wife is with me I turned on the AC again but this time pushed the AC recirc button. Alas! The engine temps holds at the same parameter as when the AC was off. I ran like this for the remaining of 50 minutes drive home freezing inside the car and engine temp holding steady.

My guess is when the AC is not on recirculating air of course it draws outside air from the windshield vent or cowl. Rubbing the engine bay of fresh air thus makes the engine stay hotter.

When the AC on recirc mode it shuts the outside vent. Because the engine bay is if I remember correctly a high side temp and area between the vent and windshield is the low side the fresh air get suck in the engine bay therefore keeps the engine cool.

Make sense? I'm 99% percent convince I found the solution to my hot engine temp AC on issue. Remember the engine temps holds steady on correct parameter while AC is off and during my last 2 autox.

PTuning is now an authorized R888 dealer. Call them up and they might give you a better deal than TR.

The condenser in your AC system doesn't work as hard when you set the recirculating air on. Hence more colder air goes to the oil cooler and radiator and no overheating is observed.
