Summit has a great return policy. RPW does not. Typically unless you know exactly how you want to route the hoses you want a variety of angled connectors (90,40, 33, straight) so you can finish the job. Summit will take them back no problem.
I seem to be able to find only 180 deg tstat and nothing over that? I figured that for the oil, running at 200 deg or a bit over would be better right?

I would imagine that on track you will see over 200° no matter what thermostat your using. My Integra ran about 165° during normal street driving but about after 9 or 10 laps on track is >250°. This is with a 180° thermostat. I am contemplating taking it out to get better flow through the cooler since it is not a street car anymore.

My new beater is driving me crazy. Can't get the AC system to work properly. Anyone here have any experience with ac systems?
Currently - AC will get 10-15* colder than ambient with rpms from 2k and higher. Although not indefinetly. After a short period of higher rpm cooling the vent temps will slowly climb back to ambient. If I let the car go to idle then vent temp goes back to ambient temp. The condenser fan is new and running.
92 civic with 111k miles.

Intermittent cooling like that can be caused by air in the A/C system and depending on the control system low refrigerant. You have to purge the system to get rid of the air which requires an A/C service machine. since the Civic is pre-93 it probably has the old style, ozone destroying (yea right) R-12 refrigerant unless it's been converted over to the newer R-134a. If you can find a buddy with an A/C servicing manifold you can check your refrig pressure to see if the coolant is just low.

Mocal 180 degree integrated into the sandwich plate. The other posts answer the question about 180 vs 200. depends on what you use the car for.

I need opinions. While I was driving to the Chik-fil-a meet at Sterling last Friday my water temp went all the way up to 230F in a stop and go traffic, when running at 70MPH the water temp still go up and down from 200F to 230F. Ambient temp was around 80F+, so I turn off my AC and temp went down to 180-190F while cruising. Oil temp reads around 200-230F at the same time.
On way home around 8PM my water temp gauge reads, 180-190F at 60-75MPH cruise and with car in front it goes up to 200-210F at the same speed. Then I was at hwy 1700 (Prince William PKWY) water temp stays around 190-200 with no car in front running 55-65MPH ambient around 74F.
I did a visual checked in the engine bay and see nothing unusual. No water leaks, no oil leaks, no steam coming out. The upper water hose though is too hot to touch. Is this normal?
I tried to duplicate what happened the for 3 days while stop and go in traffic and the water temps never go passed 210 anymore. It shows 176 to 200 depending on my speed. My SPAL fan starts at 204 while setting in traffic then stop at around 184 but it starts early when I'm running. I think it's got sensor in the oil temp also, I'm not sure. The highest oil temps I saw was 220 while doing slight pulls here and there.
Do you guys think the water pump is getting week or I have a head gasket issue already? So far no foaming in the oil filler and no coolant in oil deepstick.
