Matt, I'd go with the 1.5 inch HC1 rule to give you flexibility to run either class. Another consideration is tires. HC1 uses shaved RA1s as their spec tire so my next set of track tires will be RA1s just to have the option to run HC. Last time I heard there were two S2000s that run in HC1 at Summit point, one of them of course is John Oldt. I'm pretty sure you'll qualify and run with the Stinger group no matter which you choose for points competition, HC1 or PTB/C, so you'll be able to mix it up with them on track either way. I initially went with PTB because my wing and tires aren't HC1 compliant (although reversing my wing's risers should move the wing within the car's shadow). I recommend you talk to John before you make a decision (but he will try to talk you into HC1 )

The other one should be Erik Olson, with Scot Burner's old yellow S2K, no?

Also, HC1 or PTB, either one will be in Thunder group(with the FASTEST cars) not the Stinger group(with the slowest cars).

I know Erik and John reasonably well at this point. They co-own Scot's yellow S2000 and use it for enduro events (when its working).

There is another yellow S2000 that runs in ptb, I can never remember the guy's name. Nice guy though.

4 S2000s would be decent competition. The thought of running with the AIX cars is a little daunting though....

Matt - Where did you end up ordering your mocal oil line fittings from?

Also - Anybody used Jiffy-Tite connections. They're oil line fittings that connect together via quick connects like air tools.

Oh yea, Thunder group. I don't know why I was thinking Stinger. Fast Matt was on the Thunder pole in his S2000 at VIR but the S2000s get eaten alive during the starts--standing or rolling against the big American Iron. The biggest difference between PTB and HC1 is the flexibility of the points system of PTB. You can run Hoosiers and other mods and run quite a bit faster than the HC1 S2000s. You can take a look at the lap records for all the groups, PTB, PTC, HC1, T3, STU and ITE and you can see where you'd fit in.

I got black anodized AN fittings and the braided steel hose from Summit Racing. I got the mocal sandwich plate and Setrab oil cooler from Racer Parts Wholesale.

Summit has a great return policy. RPW does not. Typically unless you know exactly how you want to route the hoses you want a variety of angled connectors (90,40, 33, straight) so you can finish the job. Summit will take them back no problem.

Folks I need a passenger side door and mirror. The door needs to have a working window.

If anyone knows of someone selling one please let me know. I would prefer black but will take any color.

Are you using a thermostat with your oil cooler setup? If so, which one?

I seem to be able to find only 180 deg tstat and nothing over that? I figured that for the oil, running at 200 deg or a bit over would be better right?

I'm using the mocal 180* thermostat. They do however make a 200* thermostat.
